Benefits of cutting back on artificial sweeteners.

Artificial sweeteners are present in almost all processed products nowadays. Completely avoiding them seems impossible but cutting back on them and replacing those products with fresh and healthier alternatives is definitely in your hands.

What is to come
In this blog, I'll be talking about some major benefits of cutting back on artificial sweeteners to motivate you towards it, as well as share some natural alternatives to add to your food.

-Hyperactive sweet tooth
Frequent use of artificial sweeteners can limit your tolerance for more complex tastes. Artificial sweeteners present in processed food are more than 200 times sweeter than sugar. You develop a higher tolerance for sweetness the more you consume them. Also, your body starts to crave more of these hyper-sweet foods because of it. Over time, healthy foods like whole-grain products, fruits and vegetables lose their desirable taste. Then even naturally sweet foods don’t taste nearly as sweet, nor satisfying, to people who regularly consume artificially sweetened foods. That's a big loss if you are looking to improve your diet.

-Unfavorable changes in gut bacteria
Scientists conducted some tests on mice and found that artificial sweeteners disrupted the bacterial balance of their digestive system, resulting in increased blood sugar and boosting the growth of a certain gut bacteria that triggered fat storage. There are no calories tied to the fake sugars leaving so they pass directly into the gut, affecting the millions of microbes that live there. So basically your food becomes useless, it doesn't give you any nutrients and affects your body in a negative way.

-Artificial sweeteners are lying to your body
Artificial sweeteners trick your body into thinking it’s about to receive more calories than it actually does, causing people to then compensate for lack of satiety with more food later in the day. So the people who consume artificial sweeteners actually end up consuming more calories than those who don’t.

You see artificial sweeteners affect your body more negatively than giving you any good. Its better to keep your diet as natural as possible so based on my limited research, here are some natural sweeteners that can be good alternatives.

~Yacon Syrup
It's a plant-based sweetener that is used as a weight-loss supplement by many and carries a large amount of fiber which benefits your guy in many ways.

~Stevia
A low calorie is a plant-based natural sweetener which is really good for high blood pressures.

~Erythritol
It's a natural sweetener found in many fruits. Apart from being a low-calorie sweetener, it doesn't have any major benefits. But the biggest benefit in context of our topic is that it isn't harmful to your health. It is also produced industrially.

These natural sweeteners might take some effort to find but will surely help your diet.
